At Everestdmm, we have alot of real-estate investor clients, most of them, mail yellow letters to prospective sellers of homes with alot of equity. REI’s have tried postcards, snap mailers, zipper mailers and basic letters, but again and again REI’s come back to mailing yellow letters.
First, here’s what a letter is: It’s basically a newsprint notepad 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper with handwritten font, along with a handwritten colored envelope with a live stamp.
We have processed “Yellow Letters” for years for our Direct Mailer clients. We have always wondered why the work and why simple postcard do not work. I explain a little bit in my video above, but here’s what we found out.
1. The handwriting on the envelope increases engagement and ALWAYS assures someone opens the envelope.
2. The yellow letter SCREAMS uniqueness, so someone is sure to digest the message.
3. The mailing lists are good. This means you are mailing to people that actually MIGHT want to sell their home.
The best thing about yellow letters is how inexpensive it really is. It’s faster and cheaper than doing bandit signs on the side of the road. This article is written by Maddison Lake and source is www.everestdmm.com.
